Future Electronics, a global leader in electronic components distribution, recently showcased the STMicroelectronics STM32H5 Series of Microcontrollers (MCUs) in the latest edition of its e-newsletter, THE EDGE.
This series is based on the 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M33 core running at a maximum speed of 250 MHz, offering an ideal blend of performance and security for developers and electronics enthusiasts alike.
The STM32H5 series is designed to meet the ever-increasing security demands of Internet of Things (IoT) devices. It provides a scalable security solution that can be tailored to meet various needs.
Additional features include up to 2 Mbytes of flash memory in dual-bank memory, up to 640 Kbytes of SRAM as well as high peripheral integration.
The STM32H5 portfolio offers large package option from 25- to 176-pin. It supports up to 125°C ambient temperature , making it suitable for harsh environments.
Developers have the flexibility to choose from a range of offers, from basic security services to fully certified building blocks maintained by ST throughout the product’s lifecycle. This flexibility allows for more innovative design choices and caters to a wide array of programming languages and coding requirements.
The STM32H5 Series
There are three lines of microcontrollers within the STM32H5 Series:
- STM32H503
- STM32H562
- STM32H563 and STM32H573
The following table summarizes the specs and features of the STM32H5 series:
Flash Memory | RAM | Pin Packages | Peripherals | Performance | |
STM32H503 | 128kB | 32kB | 25 to 64 pins | Up to 13 | 250 MHz |
STM32H562 | 1-2 MB | 640 kB (SRAM) | 64 to 176 pins | Up to 32 | 250 MHz |
STM32H563/ STM32H573 | 1-2MB | 640 kB (SRAM) | 64 to 176 pins | Up to 34 | 250 MHz |
The STM32H562 comes with more flash memory, RAM, and peripherals than the STM32H503 as well as additional safety features (not listed in the above table). The STM32H563 and STM32H573 are even more capable, offering more peripherals and additional safety features when compared with the STM32H562.
Let’s check out each product lines’ specifications and features:
