The Power Electronics role is a key part of the Actuation Systems department, responsible for designing, prototyping, testing, and integrating the hardware needed for motor control, feedback loops, and general control system support during flight. These tasks are integral to the controlled movement of MBDA’s products.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across all stages of the product lifecycle, from early feasibility and technology assessments through to certification and supporting transition to production. This role will require close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders in multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that products meet quality, cost, and rate targets.
What MBDA is seeking in a candidate:
– Ideally, the candidate should have a degree qualification with post-qualification experience in Electronic Design, development, and delivery.
– Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team is crucial as it brings unique challenges and opportunities. A passion for teamwork and collaboration is highly desired.
– Experience in high integrity industries where stringent safety and security constraints are ingrained would be beneficial. This would demonstrate an understanding of MBDA’s responsibility to deliver excellence at every level.
– Experience or interest in power electronics, particularly for motor control applications, would be an advantage. A commitment to designing excellent solutions is key.
