University of East London Seeks Professor in Electrical and Electronic Engineering

The university is looking to hire a Professor or Associate Professor to join its School of Architecture, Computing, and Engineering (ACE). This opportunity comes with an attractive salary package, starting from £59,960 for an Associate Professor and £70,913 for a Professor, inclusive of London Weighting. As a Professor or Associate Professor in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at ACE, your role will extend beyond delivering lectures, workshops, seminars, and practical sessions. You will be expected to provide high-quality, innovative teaching that engages students and contributes to the dynamic research environment within the university. You will also be required to stay updated with the latest teaching pedagogy and technological advancements in electronics and computers. This will enable you to develop good practices and maximise the use of teaching and assessment tools.

In addition to this, you will play an active part in university-led or school initiatives that align with strategic plans and key performance indicators (KPIs). You will also mentor early-career academics, lecturers, and senior lecturers, providing them with guidance and support. The ideal candidate will hold a doctoral qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, with a proven research track record. You should have specialised knowledge in the field, including but not limited to areas such as renewable energy systems, energy harvesting, or electrochemical engineering.

The role also requires a comprehensive understanding of the national TEF, KEP, and REF landscape. You should be able to teach at undergraduate, postgraduate, and research degree level. Crucially, you should be a confident networker and relationship builder, capable of engaging with local and national employers and other educational institutions. This will ensure progression opportunities for students and enhance their overall experience at the university.
