The prospective professor will be expected to represent the subject area in research and teaching within the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering. This includes overseeing current modules of basic and specialized studies in the diploma and master’s degree programs, with a significant focus on laboratory practical courses. The role also involves active participation in the basic education and teaching export of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will have the chance to develop and implement a challenging, future-oriented research program in electronic packaging and interconnection technology. The research activities should strengthen the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology’s focus areas, including biomedical engineering, optoelectronics, sustainable electronics, and state-of-the-art electronics. This will require an interdisciplinary connection.
The professor will also be expected to maintain and further expand the existing technological and diagnostic equipment with the aim of establishing an interdisciplinary technology and transfer platform. Participation in academic self-administration is also part of the role.
Applicants should have proven international scientific credentials in at least two relevant fields. Other expectations include a successful scientific activity in a current field of the appointment area, excellent research achievements with high development potential, experience in teaching, outstanding didactic skills, success in acquiring third-party funding, experience in guiding and managing scientific and non-scientific staff. A robust national and international network within the specialist community is also required.
Applicants should also be able to offer courses in English and have sufficient German language skills (language level CEF B1) to perform teaching and administrative duties. Practical experience in the relevant industry is advantageous.
